Scott Signs for Notts County

Notts County Ladies Football would like to announce the signing of international midfielder Desiree Scott.

The Canadian international, nicknamed ‘The Destroyer’ , has made 64 appearances for her national side, including winning a bronze medal in the London 2012 Olympics last year, defeating Great Britain in the quarter finals.

Desiree started her career at the Vancouver Whitecaps, where she spent six years, before moving to Kansas City in early 2013. Desiree joins a host of international players at Notts County FC after the recent signings of Ellen White and Carly Telford, as well as fellow England players Sophie Bradley and Jess Clarke.

Since making her international debut in 2010, Scott has gone on to play 64 times for her national side, including winning a gold medal at the Pan American Games.

Notts County Ladies FC Chief Executive Luke Negus-Hill is delighted with the signing, “Desiree is an internationally renowned footballer, and one of very high class. This signing, along with our other recent signings, continues to show the ambition and desire of this football club. “

“We are bringing footballers here who share our desire and intent, to achieve the best. We are building a team here at Notts County Ladies FC and we’re delighted to continue that growing team with Desiree.”

Manager Rick Passmoor also expressed his delight in the signing, “Desiree is an extremely impressive footballer, and she’s shown this across many levels. Bringing her to Notts County shows our ambition, as well as hers. We continue to strive forward as a football team, a team which trains full time, and a team which has real intent to achieve in women’s football.”

“We are building a team here, a team which is together, and I’m delighted to add Desiree to this team.”

Long term advisor and personal friend Chuck Vine said on the move ““Desiree is thrilled to be joining Notts County for the upcoming season. The opportunity & choice to play for Coach Passmoor at a club with such rich history, top class facilities and the potential to lead the club it’s first Champions League qualification was an easy one. I couldn’t be more excited for her.”

The signing is subject to international clearance.
